This study of researchers from Johns Hopkins University is making headlines all over the world. It has been said in the study that this was not the case at all in the 90s, but this historical change is being seen now.

Sherlin used demographic data from three major surveys – the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health and the National Survey of Family Growth – to gather the facts in this study.

Sherlyn told that most of the women who have children before marriage have completed high school or its equivalent. At the same time, about 20 percent of the women who graduated were not married at the time of their first child. He said that in 1996, only 4 percent of the women who studied in college were not married at the time of their first child, but twenty years later, the number of such women has increased by almost 6 times to about 24.5%.
