T20 World Cup: Pakistan warns Team India, washed champion West Indies in the very first match


Abu Dhabi. Pakistan has made a good start in the T20 World Cup 2021. The team trampled the champion West Indies by 7 wickets in the first warm-up match. West Indies had scored 130 runs for 7 wickets while playing first. Pakistan achieved the target for 3 wickets with 27 balls to spare. Captain Babar Azam played an innings of 50 runs. Left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman remained unbeaten on 46 runs. In the first match of the World Cup, Pakistan has to face Team India on 24 October.

In the match, West Indies captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and decided to bat. However, the team could not start well. Team openers Andre Fletcher scored 2 and Lendl Simmons scored 18 runs. The team could score only 44 runs in the first 10 overs. Aggressive batsman Chris Gayle was dismissed after scoring 20 off 30 balls. He hit 2 fours.

Pollard hit 5 fours in the last over

Shimron Hetmyer was dismissed for 28 off 24 balls. He hit 3 fours. After 19 overs, West Indies’ score was 110 for 6 wickets. In the final over, Kieran Pollard scored 20 runs off Haris Rauf’s first 5 balls with 5 fours. He got out on the last ball. He scored 23 runs in 10 balls and took the score to 130 runs. Apart from Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Hasan Ali got 2-2 wickets from Pakistan.

Babar gave the team a quick start

Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan (13) gave a quick start to the Pakistan team chasing the target. Both added 36 runs for the first wicket in 5.3 overs. Ravi Rampal bowled Rizwan. Babar and Fakhar Zaman (46 *) added 58 runs for the second wicket. Babar faced 41 balls. Hit 6 fours and a six. However, Mohammad Hafeez (0) could not open the account. Fakhar faced 24 balls.
