Maharashtra: Siddhivinayak, Shirdi temples will open from today, it is necessary to follow the rules


Mumbai. All religious places including the world famous Siddhivinayak Temple and Shirdi Temple of Maharashtra will open for the general public from 7 October. This will be the first day of Navratri. However, the Maharashtra government has asked people to strictly follow the guidelines of Kovid-19. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has said that caution should be taken to prevent corona virus infection. The Maharashtra government has announced the reopening of schools for classes 5 to 12 in rural areas and 8 to 12 in urban areas from October 4.

In the warning issued, the government has said that people will have to wear face masks and use hand sanitizers in all religious places. The management of the religious place concerned will be responsible for these measures. No prasad will be distributed, there will be no sprinkling of holy water. Idols, holy books or objects will not be touched. Arrangements will have to be made to maintain social distancing. There should be a gap of 6 feet between two persons. The state government has advised senior citizens, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years to stay at home. It has been said in the order that if possible for the management, separate entry and exit gates should be made for the devotees. Measures should be taken to avoid crowds. People should avoid physical contact while greeting each other.

Siddhivinayak: Pre-booking on the app will be able to see again

The Shri Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple Trust has announced that Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple will reopen for pilgrims. Trust chairman Adesh Bandekar said that all the devotees will have to make pre-booking on the Shri Siddhivinayak Temple Trust app, which will give a QR code and through this only entry will be given inside the temple. He said that every hour only 250 devotees would be given QR codes for darshan. He said that devotees will have to take measures like social distancing, wearing masks etc. Also, all people will be allowed to enter the temple only after checking the temperature with a thermal scanner. Bandekar said that the registration for the devotees through the app has started from 12 noon on 6 October. After that, every Thursday, the app will take registration for the next week.

Online slot has to be booked in Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir

Kovid-19 safety protocol will have to be followed in Shirdi Sai Baba temple too. Only then will the devotees be allowed to enter. Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust has arranged for an online booking window. Only through this the slot will be booked and then devotees will be able to go for darshan. The institute has said that this measure has been taken to avoid long queues.

The Maharashtra government has given exemption from the Kovid-19 lockdown in a phased manner. The state government had earlier allowed local trains to be opened for frontline and essential service workers and had stipulated that this facility would be available only to citizens who have been fully vaccinated. That is, people who have received both doses of the Kovid vaccine and have completed 14 days after the second shot from August 15. After this, the restaurant has been allowed to open with 50 percent capacity with the Kovid guidelines. All employees working should be fully vaccinated. All restaurants can operate all day till 10 pm. However, parcel services are allowed 24 hours a day. All essential and non-essential shops can operate till 10 pm on all days. Full vaccination of all the people working in these is necessary. Gyms, yoga centres, salons, spas, beauty parlors can operate at 50 per cent capacity till 10 am on all days. All employees should be fully vaccinated.

Offices are allowed to work on 25% of the total number of employees. At the same time, private office workers working in shifts can do their work at any time in 24 hours following the rules. Marriages with a maximum of 100 people are allowed in closed premises like hotels/marriage halls and with a maximum of 200 people in the open air. All indoor sports like badminton, table tennis, squash, parallel bar, mallakhamb are allowed, with only two players allowed per game. It is necessary to have full vaccination of everyone including players, employees.

Restrictions in Ahmednagar due to more corona cases

Due to the high number of cases, strict lockdown-like restrictions were imposed from Monday to October 13 in 61 villages with more than 10 COVID-19 cases in Ahmednagar district. Ahmednagar Collector Rajendra Bhosale said that these villages are in Akola, Karjat, Kopargaon, Nevasa, Parner, Pathardi, Rahata, Sangamner, Shevgaon, Shrigonda and Shrirampur tehsils. He said that 500-800 cases are being reported daily in the district and the positivity rate is more than 5 percent. Therefore, instructions have been issued to implement precautionary measures in villages with more than 10 active cases. Since the corona protocol was not being followed completely, we have imposed strict restrictions in 61 villages of 11 tehsils. As per the government order, all shops except essential shops like medical stores, clinics and diagnostic labs will remain closed from October 4 to October 13, while gatherings of more than 5 people have been banned in these villages. Emergency services, transportation of agricultural produce, other essential services have been excluded. Grocery shops are allowed to function between 8 am to 11 am. During this time all religious places and schools in these areas will remain closed.
