New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking whether he understood the remarks made by US Vice President Kamala Harris about protecting democracy and institutions. Sharing Kamala Harris’s comment, he asked in an Instagram post, “Did he get it.”
In a joint address to the media with Prime Minister Modi, Harris said, “It is imperative that we defend democratic principles and institutions in our respective countries and around the world and are determined to strengthen democracy in our respective countries.” Just try it.
The Vice President said that it is obviously in the best interest of the citizens of our countries to protect democracy. Prime Minister Modi is on a visit to the US and had discussions with Harris on Friday and also met President Joe Biden.
