New Delhi. Former champions Rajasthan Royals were defeated by Delhi Capitals by 33 runs at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. With this victory, the team led by Rishabh Pant reached the top of the Delhi points table. Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson played an unbeaten innings of 70 runs but he too could not save his team from defeat. Rajasthan suffered its fifth defeat in the season.

Sanju said after the match, ‘Despite the target of 155 runs and such good batsmen, I think it could have been achieved. We should have batted better. I believe we will come back in a better way and register a win in the next matches. Emotions are rising but tomorrow morning will discuss with the players about the match.
He further said, ‘The pitch was not that slow. We could have played better. Had we had a few more wickets, obviously the result would have been different. Wicket-keeper batsman Sanju hit 8 fours and 1 six in his unbeaten innings of 53 balls. Shreyas, who was the man of the match, hit 1 four and 2 sixes in 32 balls. Pacer Enrique Norkhia took 2 wickets for 18 runs for Delhi.
