New Delhi. Nursing staff at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in the capital have been protesting for a long time. After the strike of Delhi Nurses Union, which has been going on since September 1, direct recruitment has now been banned despite the advertisement for recruitment to higher posts in the hospital. A letter has been sent to the RML Administration on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, in which instructions have been given to stop the recruitment process with immediate effect.
After this order banning direct recruitment in RML Hospital, Delhi Nurses Union has decided to withdraw the strike by tying black tape. In this regard, Delhi Nurses Union President Pramrose and General Secretary GK Khurana have given information in writing to RML Hospital. He said that the ongoing strike in RML Hospital for three demands is being withdrawn not only in this hospital but also in other government hospitals of Delhi.
Both these office bearers said that in the meeting held on September 17 with the joint secretary and director of the Delhi Nurses Union hospital, the demands for the strike were discussed. In which he assured to prepare a roadmap regarding the promotion of nurses. Along with this, ordered to stop the ongoing direct recruitment to the senior posts of nursing cadre. This also includes those advertisements which have been taken out regarding recruitment.
Let us inform that the nurses were on strike since September 1, 2021 under the banner of Delhi Nurses Union. In this strike of RML, the nursing staff of all the big government Kalavati Saran, Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) and Safdarjung of Delhi were also supporting. There were three major demands of the nurses, in which the first demand was to ban the direct recruitment of nurses from outsourced to senior posts. On the other hand, there was the issue of promotion of nurses working for 20-25 years and the third demand was about the implementation of roster points.
