DC vs RR: Rishabh Pant said after losing the toss – it doesn’t matter

New Delhi. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss against Delhi Capitals in the IPL-2021 match. In this match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Sanju invited Delhi to bat first. Delhi captain Rishabh Pant said after losing the toss that he also wanted to choose to bowl first on this ground but it did not matter.

The Delhi team will qualify for the playoffs as soon as they win a match. They currently have 14 points from 7 wins in 9 matches and are second in the table. Chennai also has 14 points but due to better net run rate, it is on top.

Pant said, ‘We were looking to bowl first, but it doesn’t matter. There will be a slight impact on the wicket in the day’s play. A change was also made in the Delhi team and Lalit Yadav was included in the playing XI in place of Marcus Stoinis. Pant further said, ‘It is good to get close to the record, but we are not focusing on individual performance. Not thinking much about qualifying for the playoffs.

Delhi’s start was not very good and both the openers returned to the pavilion for 21 runs. Shikhar Dhawan (8) was bowled by Karthik Tyagi while young Prithvi Shaw (10) was caught by Chetan Sakaria at the hands of Liam Livingstone.
