Big relief to former UP minister Ranganath Mishra, acquitted in disproportionate assets case


Prayagraj. Rangnath Mishra, who was a minister in the UP government, has got a big relief. The MP / MLA Special Court of Prayagraj has acquitted Ranganath Mishra in the disproportionate assets case. Let us tell you that in October 2012, a case was registered against Ranganath Mishra at Aurai police station of Bhadohi district. Director General of Vigilance OP Dixit had filed this case. MP / MLA Special Court Judge Alok Kumar Srivastava has given this decision today.

Let us tell you that in the last year 2020, the ED had attached assets worth Rs 5 crore of Ranganath Mishra in the disproportionate assets case. According to the ED, two plots of 250.83 square meters and 899.25 square meters have been attached at George Town Extension of Tagore Town, Prayagraj, of Ranganath Mishra and his family members. The market price of both of these is around Rs 5 crore. This action was taken against Mishra and his family members under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act-2002 (PMLA).

It is alleged that in the year 2010, while being a minister in the government, Ranganath Mishra had made these properties in the name of himself and his family members. The ED had started probe against Mishra in August 2014 on the basis of an FIR lodged by the Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Wing in October 2013. The agency said that during investigation it was found that he acquired the property during his tenure as the Minister of Secondary Education in the Uttar Pradesh government from 2007 to 2011.
