T20 WC: Sri Lanka beat Ireland by 70 runs, confirmed for place in Super-12 round


Abu Dhabi. Sri Lanka defeated Ireland by 70 runs in the qualifier match of the T20 World Cup 2021. In this Group A match played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Wednesday, Sri Lanka scored 171 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. After this, Ireland’s team was all out for 101 runs in 18.3 overs. Sri Lanka won their second match, which now has 4 points and remains on top of the group. He has qualified for Super-12. Wanindu Hasaranga faced 47 balls during his half-century innings, which included 10 fours and a six. Opener Nisanka was dismissed in the 19th over, hitting six fours and a six in 47 balls. Apart from these two, captain Dasun Shanaka contributed an unbeaten 21 runs in 11 balls with two fours and a six.

Josh Little of Ireland was the most successful bowler, taking four wickets for 23 runs in four overs, while Mark Adair got two and Paul Sterling got one wicket.
