Paragliding has started in Bhimtal of Nainital, which tourists are enjoying a lot. Not all paragliding operators have got permission because of the SIV course. Actually there are 12 paragliding sites at present, out of which only two have been started. This angered the owners and pilots of other companies.
Nitesh Bisht, vice-president of Kumaon Paragliding Association, said that due to Corona, many pilots could not take the SIV course. Government and administration should give 6 months time to the operators, in which they can get SIV courses for all gliding pilots.
Nitesh further said that till then the rest of the operators should also be allowed to start paragliding, so that they do not face any livelihood crisis. Already the employment of local youth is lying closed due to Corona lockdown.
Let us inform that in December 2018, the Uttarakhand Tourism Department had issued a guideline for air sports as per the directions of the High Court. According to this, the company whose pilot has passed the SIV course, the same company will be allowed to gliding.
