India lost Super 12 match against Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2021: Pakistan defeated the Indian team by 10 wickets in their first match of the Super-12 stage of the T20 World Cup. Despite the initial setbacks, India posted a respectable score of 151 for 7 in this much-awaited match on Sunday with captain Virat Kohli returning to form at the right time. After this, Pakistan achieved the target without losing any wicket with 13 balls to spare.

Captain Babar Azam scored an unbeaten 68 and Mohammad Rizwan scored an unbeaten 79 for Pakistan. Babar hit 6 fours and 2 sixes in 52 balls while Rizwan hit 6 fours and 3 sixes in 55 balls. None of the Indian bowlers could succeed in getting wickets. This match was the first match of the Super-12 stage for both the teams.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. Kohli had stepped on the crease in the first over. He scored 57 runs in 49 balls, which included five fours and a six, before being dismissed in the 19th over. Due to the brilliant bowling of Shaheen Shah Afridi (3 for 31), India were struggling at 31 for three at one time. Kohli shared 53 runs in 40 balls for the fourth wicket with Rishabh Pant (39 runs in 30 balls, two fours, two sixes). Pakistan won the toss and invited India to bat. India got the first 2 setbacks early and after Rohit Sharma (0), KL Rahul (3) was sent to the pavilion by Shaheen Afridi. After this, Suryakumar Yadav (11) was caught by Hasan Ali at the hands of Rizwan.
