He has left behind former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi. Afridi had 39 wickets in 34 matches. Now Shakib has 41 wickets in 29 matches. Shakib has achieved the feat of taking four wickets in an innings thrice in the T20 World Cup.
Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga is at the third place in the highest wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup. He took 38 wickets in 31 matches. Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal (36 wickets) is fourth and Ajanta Mendis (35 wickets) is at fifth position. Earlier, Bangladesh defeated Papua New Guinea (PNG) by 84 runs in a Group B match of the ICC T20 World Cup 3 days ago thanks to Shakib Al Hasan’s all-round play.
