Rain in Gujarat: Rain wreaks havoc in Gujarat, 103 roads closed, heavy rain will continue for four days


Ahmedabad: Several parts of Gujarat (Gujarat Weather Update) including Saurashtra, Kutch and the southern part of the state received torrential rains on Thursday. At the same time, the India Meteorological Department estimates that the period of heavy rain will continue in this western state of the country for the next four days.

State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) officials said 103 roads, including two state highways, have been closed in different parts of the state due to waterlogging and damage to roads following torrential rains.

According to the forecast released by the Meteorological Department today, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in South Gujarat and Saurashtra region, especially in Jamnagar, Devbhumi-Dwarka, Amreli and Bhavnjar districts for the next four days.

According to the release issued by SEOC, today there has been heavy rain in some parts of Jamnagar, Kutch, Navsari, Surat and Valad districts during the day. Between 6 am and 4 pm today, Jodiya taluka of Jamnagar district has received the highest 188 mm of rain.

According to the data, Nakhtarana in Kutch has received 93 mm of rain, Navsari’s Gandavi 81 mm, Chikhali 77 mm, Surat’s Umerpada 73 mm, Valsad’s Kaparda 69 mm and Kutch’s Anjar 66 mm.
