New Delhi: The United Kisan Morcha has announced a Bharat Bandh on Monday. This shutdown will be from 6 am to 4 pm. On behalf of the Kisan Morcha, this Bharat Bandh has been done in protest against the completion of one year of three agricultural laws passed by the Parliament in September last year. Farmers have announced a 10-hour Bharat Bandh on Monday. On September 27 last year, President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to all the three agricultural laws. Farmers have been opposing these laws for the last 10 months.
The United Kisan Morcha has said in its guideline that during the Bharat Bandh, offices, markets, shops, factories as well as schools, colleges and other educational institutions of the central and state government will not be allowed to work. Private transport will not be allowed on the roads during the bandh. During this time all kinds of public functions will also not be allowed. The farmers have also announced to keep the wholesale vegetable and fruit markets closed during the bandh. There will be a complete ban on the purchase and sale of fruits and vegetables in the mandis on Monday.
These services will continue in Bharat Bandh
On behalf of the farmers’ organizations, the agitating farmers have been clearly instructed not to disrupt the emergency services in any way. The United Kisan Morchi has allowed emergency services such as ambulances, firefighting, medical stores and private emergency services to function.
UP State President of Bhartiya Kisan Union, Rajveer Singh Yadav said that a large number of farmers are already present at the agitation site to protest against the agricultural laws, so farmers will not go anywhere during the bandh from different districts. The farmers will protest against the agricultural laws during the bandh by staying in their own districts and they will organize a bandh in their respective areas.

The opposition to agricultural laws has also got the support of many political parties. Farmers’ Bharat Bandh is supported by many political parties including Congress, AAP, YSRC, DMK, Telugu Desam, Left parties, BSP, RJD etc. The governments of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have announced nationwide support. The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to stop APSRTC buses from the midnight of 26 September to the afternoon of 27 September.
