Sonbhadra. A minor girl was gang-raped in a village of Ghorawal Kotwali area in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh. After this, the victim had to wander from door to door for 14 months in the hope of justice, but the police did not listen. Now on the order of the court, a case has been registered against 3 people in the case. The victim alleges that for so many months, threats to kill and humiliate her were received from the accused, but the Ghorawal police kept sleeping.
The aggrieved side continued to make rounds of higher officials. After facing mental torture, a case was registered on the order of the court.
A village resident of Ghoraval local Kotwali area told the police on Sunday evening that his 12-year-old minor daughter had gone to the toilet at 11 pm on July, 2020. On the way, two people from his village and a youth from Kodihar village kidnapped his daughter by tying her mouth and took her to the house of one of the accused. Everyone here raped her.
When he did not come home till late night, when he went out to search, his daughter was found in Santosh’s house in a nude condition. The accused threatened to kill her if she complained. The next day after the incident, a complaint was lodged at Ubbha Chowki and Ghoraval Kotwali but no action was taken.
An application was also sent to the Superintendent of Police, Human Rights Commission and Chief Minister’s Office on 27 July 2021 but nothing happened. When the court took refuge in the matter, now a case has been registered on the order of the court. In this regard, SHO Devtanand Singh said that on the complaint of the victim’s father, the police is investigating the matter by registering a case against Santosh son Ram Avtar, Devraj alias Pandit son Ram Avtar and Kodihar resident Sonu son unknown under various sections.
