10 judges of Karnataka High Court and 2 from Kerala appointed as permanent judges


New Delhi: Ten additional judges of the Karnataka High Court and two additional judges of the Kerala High Court were promoted as permanent judges on Thursday. The Law Ministry gave this information.

According to the notification issued by the Justice Department, the Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court Justice Maralur Indrakumar Arun, Justice Anglguppe Sitaramayya Indresh, Justice Ravi Venkappa Hosmani, Justice S Vishwajit Shetty, Justice Shivashankar Amaranavar, Justice M Ganeshaiah Uma, Justice Vedavyasachar Sreeshananda, Justice H Sanjeev Kumar, Justice Padmaraj Nemchandra Desai and Justice P Krishna Bhat have been made judges of the same High Court. Their appointment will be effective from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.

In another notification, Justice Mudalikulam Raman Anita, Additional Judge of Kerala High Court and Justice Karunakaran Nair Haripal have been elevated as High Court Judges. His appointment will be effective from the date of assuming charge.

As on September 1, the sanctioned judge strength of the Karnataka High Court is 62, though it is functioning with 45 judges. Similarly, the sanctioned strength of the Kerala High Court is 47 which is functioning with 37 judges.
